Famous for its Gassho-style houses—a registered World Heritage site—Shirakawa-go is also packed with great attractions that are characteristic of areas surrounded by nature, including Hirase Onsen, which gets its water from the base of the holy Mt Hakusan; Shiramizu Falls, rich with natural beauty; Lake Hakusui; and campgrounds.
